GG.BET
A sportsbook that speaks fluent esports, not a betting app with an esports tab
The brief
Where we started
GG.BET needed a betting platform purpose-built for esports fans — CS2, Dota 2, League of Legends — with a gaming-native look and the specific data (team form, map picks, head-to-head) this audience actually wants.
Design an interface that feels native to gaming culture, not sportsbook culture
Surface esports-specific data (map picks, team form, head-to-head records) generic sportsbooks ignore
Build real-time-feeling live scoreboard integration for in-match betting
The challenge
What we were up against
GG.BET targets the esports betting market — a younger, tech-savvy audience that expects the UI to feel as fast and polished as the games they play. Generic sportsbook layouts don't work here; the interface needed to speak gaming culture while handling real-money transactions with trust.
Esports betting also has data needs traditional sportsbooks don't handle well: map-by-map picks, team roster changes, head-to-head history across tournaments — data that's central to how esports bettors actually make decisions, and was largely absent from the platform's previous concept.
4
games (CS2, Dota 2, LoL, Valorant) unified under one gaming-native lobby
What was at stake
An esports platform that looks and behaves like a repurposed traditional sportsbook reads as inauthentic to an audience that can spot a non-gamer-built product instantly.
Our approach
How we tackled it
We studied how esports bettors actually consume information to prioritize data generic sportsbooks bury or omit entirely.
Step 1
Esports Culture Research
We studied how esports bettors actually consume information — team form, head-to-head stats, map picks, live play-by-play — to prioritize data generic sportsbooks bury or omit.
Step 2
Gaming-Native Visual Language
Dark backgrounds with neon accent glows and game-specific iconography give the platform the visual identity of the games themselves, not a betting site.
Step 3
Snappy Interaction Design
Typography and interactions were tuned to feel bold and fast — matching the pace of the games this audience already plays for hours a day.
Step 4
Live Scoreboard Integration Design
Live betting screens were designed around real-time scoreboard integration, so in-match odds and scores update without a page refresh.
The solution
The work, up close
The esports-first betting UI covers a match lobby with game filters (CS2, Dota 2, LoL, Valorant), match detail pages with team stats and head-to-head records, live betting with real-time scoreboard integration, tournament brackets, and a gamer-profile system with achievement badges.
Every match page leads with the data esports bettors actually check first — recent team form and head-to-head history — before odds, flipping the typical sportsbook information hierarchy to match how this specific audience makes decisions.
Esports-First Match Data
Team form and head-to-head history lead every match page, ahead of odds — the opposite hierarchy of a generic sportsbook, matched to how esports bettors actually decide.
Live Scoreboard Integration
In-match odds and scores update in real time without a page refresh, keeping pace with fast-moving competitive matches.
Gamer Profile & Achievements
A profile system with achievement badges borrows directly from game-progression systems, adding a retention layer familiar to this audience.
